A member of the Corporate International Department, Mr. Díez has been with the Firm since 1978. He has assisted clients of the Firm with problems involving the laws of Mexico, Venezuela, Chile, Bolivia, Colombia, Argentina, Spain, and of other civil law jurisdictions with regard to international financings, electricity contracts, oil and gas contracts, privatizations, acquisitions, construction contracts, commercial transactions, build-lease-transfer transactions, distribution agreements, litigation, antidumping, antitrust, taxation, corporate matters, foreign investments, transfer of technology, conflicts of laws and labor laws. Other duties include advising other attorneys of the Firm on matters requiring an analysis of the substance and interpretation of legal provisions, current decisions and jurisprudence of Latin American jurisdictions, and preparing affidavits for U.S. courts. Before joining the Firm, Mr. Díez was an associate with the Mexican law firm of Santamarina & Steta, where he did work on matters involving financings, corporate and tax law, foreign investments, transfer of technology and international transactions. Mr. Díez has written several articles in Mexican and international publications on legal and financial topics.

Mr. Díez is admitted to practice in Mexico, in the State of New York and in Texas as a Foreign Legal Consultant.
