Ronald Moeder, partner in the Frankfurt office, was elected Co-Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany (BCCG) for the Rhine-Main region on June 24, 2008. The pro-bono position as Co-Chairman will be passed on to Ronald with effect from January 1, 2009.
With over 1000 members, the BCCG is the second largest Chamber of Commerce in Germany (after the American Chamber of Commerce), the largest British-German economic network organization as well as the largest British Chamber in Continental Europe, established in 1919. The aims of the BCCG include strengthening British-German economic relations and promoting Germany and the United Kingdom as investment locations. Curtis Advises Trigon Agri A/S on $165 Million Share Offering Curtis represented Trigon Agri A/S on an issue and private placement of ordinary shares in a transaction valued at 105 million Euros (approximately $165 million) and resulted in a market capitalization of 194 million Euros (approximately $300 million). Trigon Agri A/S is a Danish agri-business holding, investing in cereals and dairy farms in Russia, Ukraine and the Baltic States, and is admitted to trading at the Nasdaq OMX First North in Stockholm (First North: TAGR).
Curtis was led in this transaction by London partner Eero Rautalahti, supported by Eden Quainton (Paris) and Jeffrey Ostrager (New York) in U.S. securities law and investment company issues, and by Marco Blanco (New York) in U.S. tax issues. Congratulations to Curtis’ Director of Business Development, Andrea Stimmel, whose work was recently recognized with a first place “Your Honor Award” at the Legal Marketing Association’s Annual Conference in Los Angeles.
Andrea was honored for her role as president of the LMA’s New York chapter last year when it presented a webinar on “The Ins and Outs of the Revised New York Advertising Rules.” The award was given to the New York chapter for its unique use of a new technology and for the impact that the program had on its intended audiences.
The LMA, which represents more than 3000 marketing professionals at law firms across the U.S., cited “the great job using the webinar format to impart information quickly and conveniently on important new rules and regulations.”
The program was put together in response to the many questions raised by the changes last year in New York State's advertising rules for attorneys. "The program - and its advance publicity and public relations - communicated a wealth of information on the new laws, noted the LMA. “The advance work was impressive and helped spur attendance at the webinar.”
