• Representation of a Latin American government in an ICSID arbitration against an international oil company involving oil production.
• Representation of the United Nations in connection with an arbitration under a contract relating to the United Nations’s peacekeeping operation in Somalia, conducted under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules.
• Representation of a Mexican state-owned bank in an ICC arbitration against a Cuban telephone company for breach of an approximately US$200 million credit agreement. The case involved complicated issues of governmental force majeure due to the fact that the Cuban telephone company had stopped payment under the credit agreement pursuant to an official decree by the Cuban government.
• Acting as Chairman of the Arbitral Tribunal in connection with a dispute between a government ministry of a Middle Eastern country and a European corporation, arbitrated in Geneva under the ICC Rules and involving the termination of a turnkey contract for the supply of a factory.
