Carlos Guzmán Plascencia
Mr. Guzmán is an associate in the International Arbitration group, where he focuses his practice on representing states in investment disputes. He has been involved in proceedings pursuant to the rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).
Carlos Guzmán has also advised private and governmental clients in the design and implementation of corporate structures, the formation of joint ventures, acquisition of closely-held and publicly traded companies, and the issuance and restructuring of debt in the national and international stock markets.
Before joining Curtis, Mr. Guzmán served as Chief of Department at the Office of the Attorney General for Tax Matters in Mexico City, Mexico, where he analyzed law bills and projects for constitutional amendments.
