Eloy Barbará de Parres
Mr. Barbará de Parres is a partner in the Infrastructure Development, Latin America and Oil and Gas practices. He has experience in international corporate and financial transactions, privatizations, joint ventures and project finance.
Mr. Barbará de Parres' practice involves large-scale projects in the power industry, including independent power projects as well as build, lease and transfer transactions involving power plants, transmission lines and substations. Mr. Barbará has advised on build, own and operate transactions for the world's largest nitrogen production facility as well as coal storage facilities for the power industry.
Mr. Barbará de Parres was an active participant in a multi-billion dollar plan to upgrade five refineries in Mexico, and in a program to increase production capacity in the Cantarell and Ku-Maloob-Zaap oil fields in Mexico. Recently he participated in drafting and negotiation of oil and gas risk contracts in Latin America.
Prior to joining Curtis, Mr. Barbará de Parres worked in the legal department of the Public Credit Section of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit of Mexico.
He is recommended by Legal 500 Latin America for his regional arbitration practice as well as his domestic-focused dispute resolution, energy and natural resources, and banking and finance experience.
