Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP employs a state-of the-art computing environment that incorporates the latest local and wide area networking technologies with cutting-edge document management, wireless data applications and videoconferencing facilities.
Curtis uses networking technology from vendors such as Microsoft and Cisco Systems. Our networking infrastructure includes SONET Ring technology and a redundant LAN Gigabit fiber optic backbone providing high-speed data communications with significant capacity for expansion. Curtis’ IPsec based WAN infrastructure provides the medium for secure encrypted communications with our branch offices that utilize Citrix Systems to provide a single, seamless network and Internet connection leveraging a common user interface and desktop applications for all connected offices. Remote user sessions combine layered security including SSL and RSA secure token methods.
In addition, wireless e-mail access through Blackberry, TREO and various Microsoft Windows Mobile PDA devices are supported via GOOD Technology and BES server platforms, allowing people to stay connected wherever needed. Our implementation of new Multi-Function devices in conjunction with products from omtool (AccuRoute and GeniFAX) provide individuals with easy “scan-to” capabilities which are integrated with our Interwoven FileSite document management and Exchange systems.
Business continuity is a vital component of our IT strategy to ensure information is secure and accessible should our primary location become unavailable. The Firm employs SunGard Availability Services supporting real time data replication from our primary core data repositories to hardened SunGard facilities which are protected by redundant power, generator, battery, ISP connections and 24x7 physical security. This up to the moment replicated information is accessible from any location in the world should an event require us to switch over to SunGard.
Network enhancements that are in progress include the migration of our global WAN infrastructure to an MPLS based network providing QoS services for Voice, Video and data streams, as well as the implementation of IPT solutions.
Recognizing that having the latest technology is not in itself a guarantee that the technology will be used to its fullest advantage, we center our technology goals around technical training programs. Our IT Department offers a variety of tailored courses including “Partner Personal Trainer” sessions, regularly scheduled staff assessments, and mandatory staff training to help attorneys and staff improve their personal applications productivity. The Curtis Intranet complements IT training with various user-friendly features such as calendars and help functions.
Curtis is committed to continually improving its technology, technology training initiatives and support services to better aid all personnel in the pursuit of providing quality legal services to our clients.
