The Deal Identified Steven Reisman as a “Top Special Counsel Lawyer”
New York, October 21, 2009 – In the October 8, 2009 edition of The Daily Deal, Steven J. Reisman, Curtis partner and co-chair of the firm’s Restructuring and Insolvency group, was recognized as one of the United States’ ten most active lawyers in the United States serving as special counsel in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases. Reisman ranked second on the list, with five active assignments as of October 5, 2009.
In addition to his frequent role as special counsel, Reisman participates in a wide range of domestic and international matters involving bankruptcy, restructuring and creditors’ rights on behalf of governmental, public company and private clients. He has advised clients of the firm in all facets of bankruptcy cases, including insolvency issues in business transactions and out-of-court restructurings. Reisman has represented landlords and tenants in bankruptcy cases, as well as investors seeking opportunities in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases through the purchase of bankruptcy claims, acquisition of assets, or as a proponent of a plan of reorganization, and has worked on several cross-border insolvency proceedings involving Mexico, Canada, Argentina and other countries.
