Curtis Expands in London


London, April 7, 2011 – International law firm Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP has beefed up its presence in London by adding three senior lawyers and moving to larger offices at 99 Gresham Street (EC2V 7NG) in London’s financial district. The new phone number is: +44 (0)20 7710 9800.

Curtis is boosting its London team of attorneys with two partners and a senior associate moving from other Curtis offices.

David Hesse, partner, who is moving from the firm’s Paris office. He began his career at Curtis 11 years ago in New York. He is a partner in the Oil and Gas and Private Equity practices. Mr. Hesse's energy practice concentrates on advising national oil and gas companies in connection with upstream activities, international tenders, refinery projects, farm-out agreements and other contracts in the petroleum and petrochemical industries, as well advising on international commercial arbitration matters in the energy sector. His private equity work involves venture capital and acquisitions representing both investors and companies in all stages of development. Mr. Hesse was recently awarded a Band 1 ranking (the highest) by Chambers and Partners for his work in Algeria as Corporate/Commercial: Overseas Counsel.

Peter Stewart, partner, has been with Curtis since 2003 and practiced in Dubai and New York. Mr. Stewart is a partner in the Private Equity, Venture Capital, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Capital Markets groups. His practice includes assisting private equity and venture capital funds making investments worldwide. Mr. Stewart also worked for many years in Silicon Valley and has significant experience representing companies working with emerging technologies, including biotechnology/life sciences, electronic media and internet, nanotechnology and telecommunications.

Colby Jenkins, senior associate, has been with Curtis since 2003 with the Investment Management group in New York, Almaty and Paris. He has broad-based experience in the area of financial services. He represents investment managers of and institutional and family office investors in private equity funds, hedge funds, hybrid funds and multi-manager funds operating in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Mr. Jenkins' other areas of practice include general corporate law and commercial matters.
