Curtis Celebrates 20th Anniversary in Mexico

Mexico City, September 8, 2011– Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Mexican affiliate this week with a series of events in Mexico City.

For the past 20 years, Curtis Mexico has played an active role in the cross-border practice for which the firm is well known internationally. In particular, Curtis Mexico has been involved in the legal structuring of many of the most important infrastructure projects in the country over that period.

In recent years, Curtis Mexico has broken new ground by expanding its practice to encompass both corporate transactions and international arbitrations unrelated to Mexico.

"Curtis Mexico is, and always has been, an integral part of our success internationally, a model for the effective delivery of international legal services," said Curtis Chairman George Kahale III.

Antonio Prida, a founding partner of Curtis Mexico, added: "We are proud of our accomplishments over these last 20 years and now look forward to the next phase of development of the Mexican firm, which is to expand not only in Mexico but also abroad."

In addition to Mr. Prida, Curtis Mexico partners include: Ricardo J. Diez, Eloy Barbara, Javier Jimenez, Santiago Corcuera, Rodrigo Valverde and Gabriela Alvarez.  Miguel I. Estrada Samano (former Chairman of the Mexican Bar and of the International Association of Lawyers) and Kate Brown are counsel to the firm.

In conjunction with the 20th anniversary, Mr. Kahale will be in Mexico City to speak on International Arbitration at the September 8 breakfast meeting of the Consejo Mexicano De Asuntos Internactionales, a group of prominent diplomats and businessmen based in Mexico City.

Separately, he will also accept on the firm's behalf the Medallion "Max Shein" in recognition of Curtis' pro-bono legal support of The Unión de Empresarios para la Tenología en la Educación, A.C. (UNETE), the Mexican Association of Business People for Technology in Education. It is the highest award granted by UNETE.
