Curtis Adds Accomplished Bankruptcy Partner

November 15, 2007, New York, NY - Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP has further strengthened its Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Department with the addition of Timothy A. Barnes as a partner in the New York office.

Mr. Barnes’ practice focuses on corporate restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency law. He has experience in representing debtors, lenders, creditors, investors and other parties of interest in some of the world’s largest and most complex restructuring matters, and regularly leads teams of attorneys in complex corporate, finance and commercial litigation engagements.

Prior to joining Curtis, Mr. Barnes was counsel in the Bankruptcy and Debt Restructuring Practice Group at the firm of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae in San Francisco and Chicago. Previously, he was a senior associate and associate at Latham & Watkins and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, respectively.

“Adding Timothy Barnes at this time is an ideal fit for Curtis,” said Lynn Harrison 3rd, co-chair of the Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Department. “There is an even greater need for quality bankruptcy and creditors’ rights attorneys with the recent turmoil in the credit markets. Tim will further strengthen Curtis’ reputation in the insolvency field, both in the United States and abroad.”

Mr. Barnes is admitted to practice in the States of New York, Illinois and Ohio; United States District Courts in Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin; United States Courts of Appeal for Third, Sixth, Seventh, Ninth and Eleventh Circuits; and the United States Supreme Court.

“Curtis has a strong bankruptcy team and has developed a niche as conflicts counsel in bankruptcy cases throughout the country,” said Mr. Barnes. “I am anxious to be part of strengthening the department and contributing to the overall growth of the Firm.”
