Curtis Promotes Susana Namnum to Counsel in New York


New York, April 18, 2013 - Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP has announced that Susana M. Namnum has been promoted to Counsel in the Corporate practice group at the international law firm. 

Ms. Namnum focuses her practice on capital markets and finance.  She has been with Curtis since 1997 when she joined the firm as an associate, building experience in corporate finance transactions and securities law.  

In capital markets, Ms. Namnum represents U.S. and foreign issuers in a variety of transactions primarily involving debt securities, including private offerings, tender offers and financings related to debt restructurings.  She has represented Mexican and other Latin American issuers in a variety of sectors.  She also advises U.S. and foreign clients on compliance with U.S. securities laws. 

Ms. Namnum's finance practice involves representation of banking institutions that provide corporate trust and securities-related agency services to the financial markets. She has also represented issuers, investors and swap counterparties in disputes relating to derivatives positions and loan portfolios in structured finance transactions, including resolution of conflicts in CLO and CDO structures.

Susana Namnum earned her J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law, and her B.A. from Barnard College.   She is a member of the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section and its Committees on State Regulation of Securities, Federal Regulation of Securities, Securitization and Structured Finance and Trust Indentures and Indenture Trustees.  She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association.
