Mr. Wolrich is a leading practitioner in the field of international arbitration and dispute resolution. He is a partner in the firm’s international arbitration practice and is active in both investor/state and commercial arbitrations.

Mr. Wolrich acts as Counsel, Chairman of Arbitral Tribunals, Sole Arbitrator, or Co-Arbitrator in International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI), Swiss, Stockholm and ad hoc arbitrations. These arbitrations have involved applicable laws of jurisdictions such as Algeria, Canada, Congo, England, France, Gabon, Hong Kong, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Luxembourg, New York and Switzerland, with disputed amounts ranging up to US$11 billion.

An active member of the international arbitration community, Mr. Wolrich served as Chairman of the ICC Commission on Arbitration from 2002 to 2013. He was Chairman of the Task Force on the Revision of the ICC Rules of Arbitration and was one of the principal draftsman of the 2012 ICC Rules. He was also a principal draftsman of the ICC Mediation Rules, the ICC Rules for Expertise and the ICC Dispute Board Rules. Mr. Wolrich is currently serving as Chairman of the Task Force for the Revision of the ICC Rules for Expertise and the Dispute Board Rules. He spearheaded the work at the ICC Commission to produce a Guide for In House Counsel and other party representatives, to assist them in participating in the effective management of an arbitration, which was launched in mid-2014.

Described as “a very effective advocate” and lauded by clients for his “outstanding advocacy and great command on large complex cases”, Mr. Wolrich is highly recommended by leading legal directories Chambers Global 2017 and Legal 500 EMEA 2017 for France, Dispute Resolution: International Arbitration.

Mr. Wolrich is a Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) accredited mediator and has acted as Dispute Board Chairman. He regularly publishes articles and speaks at universities and international conferences concerning arbitration matters. Mr. Wolrich has also acted as chairman and speaker at various conferences, including ICC, Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA) and International Bar Association (IBA) events.
