Mr. Lenihan is a partner in the Finance group. His practice concentrates on corporate, project, acquisition and trade finance, as well as debt restructuring and derivatives. This includes representing corporate borrowers, institutional lenders, governmental entities and credit support providers in project financings, asset securitizations, note offerings under Rule 144A, export credit agency and federal loan guarantee programs, senior secured financings, and second-lien and mezzanine loans. Mr. Lenihan has counseled debtors and creditors on debt restructuring and recovery in the context of Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, including those involving a major U.S. financial institution, a large independent power developer and a major U.S. airline.

Mr. Lenihan also advises on industrial and infrastructure project development and related commercial agreements, particularly in the energy sector. This includes experience in structuring joint ventures, commercial supply and off-take agreements, operating agreements, and engineering, procurement and construction contracts. Over the last eight years, Mr. Lenihan has represented major players in several federal loan guarantee programs, including those supporting the airline, steel, alternative energy, and rail transportation sectors. He also has particular experience in the oil and gas, petroleum and chemicals refining, power and financial services sectors.
