Mr. Blanco is an international tax partner and head of the European Tax group. He splits his time between the Paris and Geneva offices and has extensive experience on a broad range of U.S. domestic and international tax matters, including corporate mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, joint ventures, and capital market offerings.
Mr. Blanco also works with the firm’s International Arbitration group in advising governments on international tax issues arising in the context of state disputes with investors, particularly in the area of oil and gas.
In addition, he advises fund investment managers, sovereign wealth funds and family offices with respect to cross-border tax issues.
Mr. Blanco is recommended for his tax expertise by Chambers Europe 2016 and by the Legal 500 EMEA, in which he is described as having an “instinctive grasp of complex cross-border issues” and providing “incisive analysis and a calm, friendly manner.”
Mr. Blanco regularly lectures and authors articles on various international tax issues.
