New York, February 9, 2016 – Jeffrey Ostrager, co-chair of the Corporate Department and chair of the Securities Practice Group at Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP, has been chosen as a BTI Client Service All-Star for Law Firms for the fifth straight year.
Mr. Ostrager is one of only four lawyers to achieve this honor for each of the past five years, making him part of a very select group as a BTI Client Service All-Star MVP.
The BTI Client Service All-Stars is an elite group of attorneys nominated solely and exclusively by corporate counsel in the BTI Consulting Group's independent study as "delivering the absolute best client service." 312 individual attorneys from 163 leading law firms were selected as 2016 BTI Client Service All-Stars.
BTI chooses its Client Service All-Stars based on confidential responses in its annual survey of legal decision makers at organizations with more than $1 billion in revenue. The only way to become a BTI Client Service All-Star is for corporate counsel to single out an attorney for client service exceeding all others. No attorney can lobby to be added to list, there is no self-submission process, and law firms cannot provide names of clients to be contacted.
“This recognition is not just the individual attorney,” Mr. Ostrager said. “It’s a reflection not only of what I do with clients but what my partners and associates at Curtis who work on client matters do as well. It has to be a shared commitment on the part of all the lawyers who are working at a firm.”
BTI cites six traits common to the BTI Client Service All-Stars, based on the responses of the corporate counsel: superior client focus, innovative thought leadership, unmatched business understanding, legal skills, outsized value and outstanding results.
“The class of 2016 BTI Client Service All-Stars is especially impressive,” said Michael Rynowecer, president of BTI Consulting. “Corporate counsel are the most demanding they have ever been. Approximately 25% of clients are using new measures and metrics to evaluate their outside counsel. Yet, these BTI Client Service All-Stars rise above and beyond the challenge.”
Mr. Ostrager represents public and private company clients in a range of transactions, including equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and debt restructurings. He counsels public companies on corporate governance, securities law compliance and executive compensation matters. In addition, Mr. Ostrager advises private equity and investment funds in buyouts and investor rights matters.
The BTI Consulting Group, “the leading provider of strategic market research to law firms and professional services firms,” bases its analysis on "candid feedback from corporate counsel at the world's largest organizations. BTI asks General Counsel and their direct reports to delineate, unprompted, the attorneys who drive superior client relationships."
