Curtis wins dismissal of all claims in significant commercial arbitration in France

Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle represented Arkema, a French listed company and one of the leading public chemical companies in the world, in its comprehensive victory against Klesch Chemicals and Klesch Group. The award was handed down on 24 November 2015.

Arkema had to defend itself against claims brought by Klesch Chemicals in connection with the sale in 2012 by Arkema of Kem One, a major vinyl business.

The ICC tribunal seated in Paris dismissed all of Klesch's claims and instead awarded Arkema counterclaims in the amount of EUR 73.6 million as well as 75% of its arbitration costs.

Paris managing partner Geoffroy Lyonnet led the Paris team, which was composed of counsel Virginie Liautaud as well as associates Stéphanie Picot, Victor Datry and Marie-Odile Trouvé.
