Lynn P. Harrison III, chair of Curtis’ Restructuring and Insolvency group, recently spoke at the R3 Association of Business Recovery Professionals Annual Conference held in Northumberland, England on May 23, 2019.
Mr. Harrison spoke in support of the overall benefits of Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code as a restructuring regime in a debate pitting the United States’ insolvency system against that of England and Wales.
Also participating in the debate were Ferve Khan of BakerHostetler LLP, Stewart Perry of Fieldfisher LLP, and Joseph Curl of 9 Stone Buildings. The debate was moderated by Stuart Frith of Stephenson Harwood LLP.
The Conference was attended by restructuring and insolvency professionals from around the globe and covered recent events impacting the industry such as the rise of artificial intelligence, the new Insolvency Rules recently put into place in Scotland, and the ramifications of Brexit.
