Irene Cuéllar Araiza focuses her practice on representing sovereign states in international arbitrations and international dispute resolution procedures, alongside significant experience advising clients on corporate and financial transactions.
Ms. Cuéllar Araiza’s international arbitration experience includes investment treaty arbitrations and contractual disputes under the arbitration rules of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).
On the corporate side, she advises both public and private entities on a wide range of corporate and financial transactions, as well as on banking and antitrust law. Prior to joining Curtis, she worked at an international law firm where she focused her practice on financial and commercial matters in Spain and Latin America. She also worked in the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice with the former Justice, Dr. José Ramón Cossío Díaz.
While in law school she served as a summer legal intern in the Georgetown University Law Center.
