Corporate partner Patrick Callinan advises European, U.S. and GCC corporations on their investments in the Middle East and also acts on their local and international acquisitions, disposals and other transactions. He represents numerous international clients in the GCC on hotel, restaurant, bar and franchising matters and expansion into the GCC region from the U.S. and Europe.
Mr. Callinan is a member of the Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions, Entertainment and Oil and Gas groups. He regularly advises European, U.S. and GCC corporations on their regional investments and regulatory issues, and has long experience of acting for clients on acquisitions, disposals and private investment funds within the Middle East and internationally. He is often required to provide general corporate advisory and regulatory advice.
Mr. Callinan regularly advises clients on oil and gas-related exploration and production contracts, as well as representing State oil and gas regulatory authorities on contract administration and oversight.
Mr. Callinan acts for a wide range of international clients in the hospitality sector on franchising, licensing and the expansion of their brands into the GCC region from the U.S. and Europe, and advises a number of GCC-based clients from the food and beverages sector on their day-to-day operations.
Mr. Callinan has particular experience of advising on matters in post-conflict jurisdictions and emerging economies, including countries of the former Yugoslavia and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, where he has represented local and international clients and various government ministries.
