Arar Iyad

Iyad Arar’s practice focuses on investor-state disputes, international commercial arbitration, international law and international corporate transactions.

He has been involved in numerous investor-state arbitrations conducted under the auspices of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) and International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

Mr. Arar regularly advises clients on a wide range of corporate work, including mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, joint ventures and other corporate matters.

Mr. Arar is trained in both civil and common law. He is fluent in English and Arabic, and his practice primarily involves legal systems and parties located in the Middle East and North Africa. He is qualified and trained both in Syria and New York.

Recent experience includes working in ICSID and ICC arbitrations involving African and Middle Eastern governments.
