Peter Wolrich is a leading international arbitration lawyer with experience in both investor-state and commercial arbitration proceedings. He is a former Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Commission on Arbitration and ADR (2002-2013), has been a key figure in the development of ICC Rules of Arbitration and the Rules for Expertise and the Dispute Board Rules. He is also accredited as a mediator by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) and has acted as Dispute Board Chairman.

International Arbitration

Mr. Wolrich acts as Counsel, Chairman of Arbitral Tribunals, Sole Arbitrator or Co-Arbitrator in International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), ICC, London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI), Swiss, Stockholm and ad hoc arbitrations. These arbitrations have involved applicable laws of jurisdictions such as Algeria, Canada, Congo, England, France, Gabon, Hong Kong, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Libya, Luxembourg, New York, Switzerland and Turkmenistan, with disputed amounts ranging up to US$ 11 billion. Mr. Wolrich spearheaded the work at the ICC Commission to produce a guide for in-house counsel and other party representatives to assist them in the effective management of an arbitration, which was launched in June 2014.

Thought Leadership

He regularly publishes articles and speaks at universities and international conferences on arbitration matters. He has also acted as chairman and speaker at various conferences, including ICC, Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA), International Bar Association (IBA) and American Arbitration Assocation (ABA) events.
