Prior to joining Curtis, Ms. Pletenycky was appointed as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Rita Mella, Surrogate of New York County, where she drafted decisions and conferred with Surrogate on complex and novel issues before the court in contested probate and administration proceedings.
Ms. Pletenycky was recipient of the 2018 New York State Bar Foundation’s Trusts and Estates Law Section Fellowship working in the chambers of the Honorable Peter J. Kelly, Surrogate of Queens County, and recipient of the Professor Joseph T. Arenson Award for Excellence in Wills and Decedent’s Estates and the Alexander D. Forger Award for Distinguished Service to the Profession at New York Law School.
While in law school, Ms. Pletenycky served as an intern at the New York City Bar Justice Center Planning and Estates Law Project, student chapter president of the National Academy for Elder Law Attorneys, student attorney in the elder law clinic and judicial extern to the Honorable Laura Visitación-Lewis in New York County Supreme Court.
