Rustam Makishev

Associate

Rustam Makishev is an associate in the International Arbitration group.

Mr. Makishev has represented sovereign and state-owned entities in both investor-state and commercial arbitrations under a variety of arbitration rules, including the rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the rules under the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). He has represented clients in arbitrations in several industry sectors, including oil and gas, infrastructure projects, mining and construction sectors. Further experience includes advising private entities on significant disputes arising in Kazakhstan.

Mr. Makishev has also supported work of a corporate nature, such as the conduct of legal due diligence with respect to IPOs.
