Mr. Chiang is counsel in the Tax group. His practice includes advising clients on the structuring, formation, management and investment in U.S. and international investment funds, and representing companies in acquisitions, buyouts, dispositions and related financings. He also advises on other U.S. and cross-border transactions, including securities offerings, joint ventures and other strategic planning initiatives.
Mr. Chiang also works with the Trusts and Estates practice group on tax issues relating to domestic and multijurisdictional estate and succession planning for high net worth individuals, fiduciaries, and beneficiaries. He is experienced in tax considerations of trust decanting and division, controlled foreign corporations (CFCs), passive foreign investment companies (PFICs), Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR), and Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA). In 2013, Mr. Chiang presented on FATCA to the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
In 2018, Mr. Chiang was named a “Next Generation Lawyer” for international tax by the Legal 500: USA guide.
