Curtis Client ENGIE takes over utility operations at Ohio State University campus

Curtis Client ENGIE North America has closed on a 50 year public-private partnership to modernize the Ohio State University campus with a concession value of US$1.165 billion. An affiliate of ENGIE, in its capacity as the operator for the project, has now taken over the operations and optimization of the University’s utility system at its main campus.

As part of this first-of-its-kind public private partnership, ENGIE has formed a consortium with Axium Infrastructure to fund an Energy Advancement and Innovation Center and the consortium provides power, heating, cooling systems and utility services for the University’s main campus. The agreement with the University also contemplates the implementation of certain conservation measures to achieve energy savings targets for the future.

The Curtis team was led by Houston-based partner Robert George, and included tax partners William Bricker and Eduardo Cukier, tax counsel K.C. Chiang and associate Edmundo de la Fuente
