James Alford Joins Curtis’ Washington, D.C. Office

WASHINGTON, February 3, 2009 – Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP announced today the arrival of James K. Alford as partner in the Firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Alford joins Curtis’ corporate-international practice and brings with him more than 25 years of experience assisting U.S. and international clients with transactions in a broad spectrum of industries.

Alford is the second partner to join the Firm’s Washington, D.C., office in the past three months.

“Our global clients look to Curtis to advise them on every aspect of their domestic and international business dealings,” said Curtis Managing Partner Matias A. Vega. “The addition of James Alford enables us to better meet the growing demand for international legal expertise.”

Alford focuses his practice on advising U.S. and foreign clients on the design and implementation of international corporate, transactional and financing operations. This includes obtaining project financing for turn-key facilities and public-private partnerships. He received his J.D. from the New England School of Law and his B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University.

Prior to joining Curtis, Alford was a partner at McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP.

“Curtis offers great breadth and depth in practice areas and geographic regions that are central to my practice,” Alford said. “I have known the Firm by reputation as the premier international law firm for many years and I am excited to now be a part of it.”
