Jason Gottlieb Joins Curtis Litigation Group as Counsel

New York, August 4, 2009 – Jason Gottlieb has joined the Litigation group at the international law firm Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP. He joins the firm as counsel in the firm’s New York office where he will focus on commercial litigation and arbitration, particularly on matters relating to securities, financial products and financial markets.

Gottlieb has experience with all aspects of the litigation process, from pre-litigation dispute resolution through motion practice, discovery (including electronic discovery and depositions), trial, appeals, arbitration and enforcement of awards. Gottlieb has represented major international companies, banks and private equity funds in areas such as securities, regulatory enforcement, contract interpretation and intellectual property. He is a frequent speaker on financial markets litigation issues and has also published articles on various topics related to Asian law.

Gottlieb earned his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and his A.M. from Harvard University. He received his B.A. from Rutgers University. He was an associate in the New York office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP prior to joining Curtis.

The Curtis Litigation group advises on all manner of commercial litigation and arbitration in a broad range of subject matter including contracts, fraud, antitrust, business torts, defamation, intellectual property and related issues. The firm has a track record of successfully obtaining dismissals, summary judgments and denials of class certification for clients ranging in size from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups and operating in every major business sector. The group has particular expertise in representing U.S. and foreign public issuers, multinational investment banks, funds and other financial institutions, as well as accounting firms and law firms in the defense of complex securities cases and class action and derivative lawsuits in federal and state courts. The firm’s Litigation group works closely with the firm’s Government Enforcement practice in investigations and frequently draws upon the industry experience of our Capital Markets and Investment Management attorneys to develop comprehensive strategies in securities litigation. In addition, Curtis attorneys have extensive experience representing investment firms in industry-related arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
