Curtis’ Multinational Partnership Announces Promotions


July 7, 2008, New York, NY – Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP's multinational partnership in London has promoted four attorneys, three to partner and one to counsel. The attorneys are located in the Firm's European, Middle East and Central Asian offices.

"These talented individuals have been an important and integral part of the Firm's international growth, which includes the recent opening of an office in Kazakhstan and the more than doubling the number of attorneys in our European and Middle East offices," stated George Kahale III, Chairman of the Firm.

"Their continued hard work and commitment to excellence will help Curtis expand further in the coming months."

Ali R. Gursel, managing partner of the Curtis Istanbul office, represents clients in corporate matters, with special emphasis on representing foreign sovereigns or their agencies as borrowers in financing transactions. He has represented states and state agencies in Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, North and Central America and the Caribbean in a variety of financing transactions and disputes.

Askar Moukhitdinov, located in Curtis' newest office in Astana, Kazakhstan, focuses his practice on cross-border investments and matters related to the oil and gas industries, especially items related to debt and equity financings and with the negotiation of gas sales, contracts and servicing agreements.

Galileo Pozzoli, partner in the Firm's Milan office, focuses on cross-border investments, energy law and international arbitration. He has recently represented clients before the Italian and European Union energy regulatory authorities in connection with the issuance of licenses for the importation and sale of oil & gas.

David Hesse, counsel in the London office, focuses on private equity, venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, investment management, UCITS, as well as other cross-border and international business law matters.
