Curtis Italy hosts a seminar on Chinese investment into Italy

Curtis is to host a round table panel event on Chinese investment into EU in its Milan office on Wednesday, May 29, 2019. Moderated by Milan based corporate partner Ian Tully, the panel will include Curtis Beijing partner, Ron Xie, alongside a distinguished panel that includes Italian clients.

In March 2019, Italy became the first G7 National to join China’s global development strategy, the Belt and Road Initiative. The Curtis event, entitled "Opportunities for closing the gap on other EU states", capitalises on the increased interest in China-Italy business cooperation following the visit of the Chinese President, Xi Jinping to Italy in March 2019.

The seminar is targeted at Italian multinationals open to investment opportunities, private equity firms with candidate portfolio companies, financing banks, financial advisors involved with Chinese clients and those involved in Italian infrastructure projects, along with the Italian investment community.

Panelists will include Vincenzo Petrone, General Manager of the Italy-China Foundation, Stefano Schiavo, CEO and Executive Director of CMIT China Merchants Industry Technology Europe, which is part of the China Merchant Group, Jin Jing Shi, Managing Director of leading Chinese investment bank Haitong International Securities, and Nicola Verdicchio, Senior VP & Chief Legal Officer of Pirelli & C SpA. Opening remarks will be given by Li Shaofeng, Economic and Commercial Consul for the PRC in Milan.
