Previously an architect, Hermann Ferré has great depth of experience in energy and construction disputes. He represents sovereign states and other clients in court and international arbitration and works from the Riyadh, Dubai and New York offices.

Global Dispute Resolution Practice

Mr. Ferré is a partner in the Litigation and International Arbitration groups. His particular areas of experience include energy, construction, business law and international law. He has represented U.S. and foreign government officials in state and federal proceedings and acts for sovereign states and international organizations in international arbitration. He has arbitrated under American Arbitration Association (AAA), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) rules of arbitration, and has worked on cases in North America, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia.

Previous Experience

Before practicing law, Mr. Ferré, who is a trained architect, managed construction projects for Los Angeles County. He helped establish the county’s Energy Management Division, focusing on energy efficiency, and was instrumental in partnering Los Angeles County with Southern California Edison in its innovative 1995 Demand-Side Management Program. He first gained construction management experience while working for Washington Group International/URS and Burns & Roe.

Pro Bono Representation

Mr. Ferré’s practice encompasses pro bono representation in litigation matters. He has been recognized for his efforts to bring equal rights to the residents of Puerto Rico and was presented with a Resolution of the House of Representatives of Puerto Rico for his efforts in the case United States v. Vaello-Madero.
