Curtis is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Verena Ritter-Döring as a Banking & Capital Markets partner based in the firm’s Frankfurt office, effective March 1, 2018.
Dr. Ritter-Döring has significant experience across the full spectrum of German and EU banking and investment regulation. She has particular knowledge of institutional and product-related banking regulatory law, investment law and payment supervisory law. Dr. Ritter-Döring has advised German and international banks, financial institutions, corporations and investment funds, on the full range of license and organizational requirements, compliance and distribution specifications relating to German banking and securities laws and corresponding European Regulations and Directives.
Frankfurt managing partner Marc Kramer said: “Verena brings extensive regulatory experience at national and EU level, which is exactly what our clients want right now. Her skills perfectly complement those of our thriving asset management and investment funds practice, and further expand our Europe-wide offering. Our existing institutional investor, financial institutions and fund manager clients will appreciate her assistance in the face of an increasingly complex regulatory environment”.
Verena Ritter-Döring commented: “I’ve known the Curtis team for some time in Frankfurt, and was attracted to the entrepreneurial spirit. I think there are great opportunities for me here to grow my practice in Germany and work with my new European colleagues, including the London team in light of Brexit”.
Ms. Ritter-Döring received her Dr. Iur. degree, magna cum laude, from Goethe-University in Frankfurt, and was admitted to the German Bar in 2011. She is fluent in German and English.
