François d’Ornano is a corporate and real estate attorney with over 25 years’ experience in both the public and private sector. He has exceptional regional experience and insight in Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) and South Eastern Europe (SEE).
Mr. d’Ornano advises clients on all aspects of their international commercial issues, primarily related to corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and real estate. His sectoral experience spans leisure and hospitality, real estate, infrastructure development, agrifood industry and telecommunication.
Notable for his regional focus, Mr. d’Ornano is widely recognized for his work in Central & Eastern Europe (CEE), and South Eastern Europe (SEE). Chambers Global has awarded him Foreign Expert status in Hungary for many years, and has also praised his “great regional knowledge”. He is recognized by Legal 500 EMEA 2025 in France: Private Equity (LBO). His eponymous firm, which became part of Curtis in 2026, is ranked by Chambers Europe in France: High End Capability.
Mr. d’Ornano leads the Curtis team in Budapest and coordinates the firm's activity in several CEE jurisdictions, including Bulgaria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine and the successor states of the former Yugoslavia.
In January 2026, Mr. d’Ornano was appointed Foreign Adviser for Hungary to the French Government.
