Associate Marat Umerov attended Juris Conferences' 2016 Investment Treaty Arbitration Conference

Washington, D.C.-based associate Marat Umerov participated in Juris Conferences’ tenth annual Investment Treaty Arbitration Conference. The event was held from May 12 - May 13, 2016 at the Washington Plaza Hotel. The conference brought together authors of Investment Treaty Arbitration and International Law, volume 10, and arbitral practitioners to discuss whether major multinational trade deals such as TPP and TTIP are doomed enterprises or simply burgeoning developments experiencing initial setbacks.

As the co-author of “Problems of “Investment” and “Investor” Notions in Investor-State Dispute Settlement” Dr. Umerov participated in a panel alongside Curtis partner Borzu Sabahi; Baker & McKenzie partner Edward “Teddy” Baldwin; Derains & Gharavi partner Eloïse Obadia; Clifford Chance partner Janet Whittaker; and co-author Mark McCrone, partner at Baker McKenzie. The panel was moderated by Michael Nolan, partner at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy.
