Claudia Frutos-Peterson speaks at ICSID Seminar on Investor-State Mediation

Washington, D.C.-based partner Claudia Frutos-Peterson participated in an ICSID seminar entitled, “Investor-State Mediation: Perspectives from States, Mediators & Practitioners,” which was held on June 15, 2017 at ICSID Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Frutos-Peterson spoke on the seminar’s first panel, called “Investor-State Dispute Resolution – A State Perspective,” which focused on conflict management strategies used by states to address investor-state disputes, including specialized dispute management protocols and the factors that influence a State’s decision to resort to arbitration, conciliation, mediation and settlement discussions. She was joined by panel moderator Anna Joubin-Bret (Cabinet JOUBIN-BRET), and fellow panelists Eloïse Obadia (Derains & Gharavi), Luis Velez (Colombian National Agency for the Legal Defense of the State), and Carlos Valderrama (Sidley Austin).
