Claudia Frutos-Peterson to Speak at American University Conference

Washington, D.C. partner Claudia Frutos-Peterson will speak at a roundtable conference entitled, “Rejection of Mining Licensees: between Disappointment and Breach of the Fair and Equitable Treatment Standard,” on Thursday, April 12 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at American University’s Washington College of Law.

The conference, organized to welcome students participating in the Seventh LL.M. International Commercial Arbitration Competition, will focus on issues surrounding requests for arbitration brought under the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law and the North American Free Trade Agreement over the denial of a mining permit. Additional speakers include Bjorn Arp (WCL Center on International Commercial Arbitration), Caroline Richard (Freshfields, Bruckhaus Deringer LLP) and Liz Snodgrass (Three Crowns).
