Curtis Co-chairs Meeting of the Working Group on the Development of the Draft Corporate Governance Code of Uzbekistan

On October 9, the regular meeting of the Working Group on the Development of the Draft Corporate Governance Code was held, which Curtis co-chaired with the National Agency for Perspective Projects of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

With Curtis playing a leading role in coordinating and advancing the work, Partner Marc Hammerson chaired the meeting with General Director of Curtis Tashkent, Arslan Makharamov, also in attendance. Attendees included representatives from the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and more. 

Throughout the session, participants thoroughly reviewed regulatory frameworks, investment-friendly corporate mechanisms for investment projects, and structural legal improvements for doing business in Uzbekistan.

During the visit, Marc Hammerson was also invited to deliver a lecture at the Tashkent State University of Law on pursuing an international legal career, sharing his experience and insights with aspiring legal professionals.
