Curtis Environmental Chair Charles Howland to Moderate Panel Discussion on Latest Developments in Environmental Due Diligence at ABA Masterclass on Environmental Transactions

On June 16, Partner and Environmental Chair Charles Howland will moderate a panel entitled “Emerging Risks: Best Practices in Assessing a Property or Target Company as Part of Environmental Due Diligence,” as part of the American Bar Association’s Section on Environment, Energy and Resources conference entitled Environmental Transactions Masterclass: Hot Topics and Emerging Issues for 2023 and Beyond, being held in Chicago, IL. Joined by legal and environmental professionals from the U.S. and the E.U., the panel will highlight emerging trends that are broadening the scope of environmental due diligence, driven by climate change disclosures, building energy performance requirements, environmental justice issues, floodplain issues, and water shortages.

Mr. Howland will also be speaking on the new ASTM e1527-21 standard for environmental site assessments, and how they can help unlock additional tax incentives for renewable energy projects under the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act.
