Curtis Environmental Chair to Participate in a Project Training Session in Support of the 10,000 Communities Initiative at the 2023 Brownfields National Training Conference

On Tuesday, August 8, partner and Environmental Chair Charles Howland will be participating in a project training session in support of the 10,000 Communities Initiative at the 2023 Brownfields National Training Conference in Detroit, Michigan. The 10,000 Communities Initiative seeks to ensure that cross-sectoral attention, federal technical assistance funding, and impact capital are effectively deployed to the underserved communities that need it most. The project training session is sponsored by the Milken Institute and other private and public partners.

The session will focus on helping under-served communities learn how to access no-cost sources of technical assistance and project advancement capital for their infrastructure projects, including community centers, smaller scale renewable energy projects, housing projects, and others. Communities who are utilizing or seeking new funding for brownfield assessment grants will be able to connect with experts to have their development projects evaluated, get access to a detailed project readiness assessment, and be matched to additional sources of federal, state, and philanthropic grants.
