Claudia Frutos-Peterson and Elisa Botero Contribute to New Spanish Language Book on Investment Arbitration

Partner Claudia Frutos-Peterson and associate Elisa Botero contributed chapters to the book, “Tratados Internacionales y el Arbitraje de Inversión: Experiencias de Colombia y del Derecho Comparado,” which was released on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 in Bogotá, Colombia. The book, which was edited by Editorial Ibañez and the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá), has been praised by ICSID as an important contribution to academic literature on international arbitration.

Ms. Frutos-Peterson and Ms. Botero co-authored a chapter on challenges states face when defending themselves in investment disputes (“Retos jurídicos de la defensa de los Estados en controversias de inversion”), and Ms. Botero wrote a second chapter on the bifurcation of preliminary objections in investment arbitration (“La bifurcación de las excepciones preliminares en el arbitraje de inversion”).
