Irene Petrelli participated as a speaker in the panel “Investment Arbitration: Challenges of the Energy Field”

Last week, partner Irene Petrelli participated as a speaker on the panel “Investment Arbitration: Challenges of the Energy Field,” organized by the Advocacy&Litigation Association of Bocconi University in Milan.

Ms. Petrelli's presentation focused on the conflict between investment arbitration and the ability of States to tackle the climate crisis, and how the risk of being sued in arbitration proceedings for violating international investment treaties is a factor that States take into account in their decision-making processes in the energy sector.
