Juan Perla to Speak at Sovereign & States Disputes Summit in London

Partner Juan Perla will speak at the 4th Annual Sovereign & States Disputes and Enforcement Summit at Plaisterers’ Hall in London on February 6. He will join a panel entitled “Updates on the Enforcement of Awards Against Sovereigns in the US,” along with co-panelists Tara Plochocki of Sequor Law, Markus Burgstaller of Hogan Lovells, and Ryan Manton of Three Crowns LLP. The panel will be moderated by Sudhanshu Swaroop KC of Twenty Essex.

The discussion will focus on the latest trends in enforcing and challenging arbitral awards rendered against foreign sovereigns and state-owned enterprises in U.S. courts, including issues relating to sovereign immunity, anti-corruption defenses, annulled awards, and asset immunity, among others.
