Partner Charles Howland Discusses the Energy Transition and the Future of the Grid with the Energy Committee of the Greater Houston Partnership

Environmental Group Head Charlie Howland joined executives from CenterPoint Energy (the Houston area electricity transmission and distribution utility), and Jupiter Power (a utility scale battery developer), to lead a discussion regarding how the ERCOT-controlled grid in Texas can best be improved to ensure reliability while supporting the energy transition. The discussion was sponsored by the Energy Committee of the Greater Houston Partnership, at CenterPoint’s new Hiram O. Clarke Training Center in Houston. Mr. Howland focused on recent regional and national regulatory and policy developments, including tax credits and other support under the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, and various federal executive orders designed to streamline permitting.
