Anastasios Lafaras

Mr. Lafaras’s has been part of legal teams representing sovereign States, state-owned entities and multinational corporations in international arbitrations under the rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), as well as in cross-border litigation, including enforcement, before state courts.  He has acted in disputes spanning a range of industries, including oil and gas, renewables and construction.

Mr. Lafaras’s experience also includes trade, sanctions, antitrust, and general EU law.  He regularly advises clients on complex regulatory issues and represents them in administrative and judicial proceedings.

Prior to joining Curtis, Mr. Lafaras trained with an international law firm in Athens and London gaining experience in various practice areas, including litigation, arbitration, corporate and finance.  He also interned with the Hellenic Competition Commission assisting with antitrust litigation and investigations.

Mr. Lafaras is qualified to practice in the EU (Greece).  He holds degrees from Harvard University (LL.M.), Paris-Panthéon-Assas University (Master 2) and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (LL.B.).  He speaks English, French and Greek.
