Elena Klonitskaya is an experienced international trade lawyer who has practiced EU and international trade/WTO law in Brussels since 2002.

Her internationally focused practice spans the full gamut of trade law, including trade remedies, anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and safeguard investigations in the EU and U.S.; national security measures, sanctions and export controls regulations; customs law, including valuation and tariff classification, rules of origin, Generalised System of Preferences (GSP), economic tariff regimes, duty suspensions and tariff quotas; market access barriers, and various forms of discrimination and unfair competition; bilateral, regional and multilateral trade agreements and investment treaties; and EU regulatory and competition law matters.

Ms. Klonitskaya has particular experience in the energy sector, having advised on EU regulatory matters, including third energy package, market access, security of supply, market integrity, EU environmental law (including on the recently announced carbon border tax on imports), technical regulations and standards. Her broader sectoral experience includes the chemical, steel, automotive, transport, electronics, IT, high-tech, and services sectors.

Ms. Klonitskaya is admitted in both Belgium (B-list) and Russia.
