Joseph Pizzurro has wide-ranging experience in international litigation and commercial arbitration and a sharp focus on representing sovereign states and state-owned entities.
Mr. Pizzurro has a wide range of experience in international commercial arbitration, having acted as counsel for both claimants and defendants in proceedings conducted in the United States and abroad. He has represented clients in arbitrations under the auspices of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).
During the course of his career, Mr. Pizzurro has represented many sovereign states and state owned entities in numerous United States litigations as well as commercial arbitrations. He has an expertise in the specific issues that arise for sovereign states in United States litigation, including those under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act.
Mr. Pizzurro has represented governments, governmental agencies, public and private corporations in numerous proceedings within the United States and abroad. He has extensive experience in a full range of commercial, securities and business-related litigation throughout the United States, at both the trial and appellate levels.
