Sebastian Maal Chain

Prior to joining Curtis, Mr. Maal gained experience at leading Colombian law firms, where he focused on dispute resolution, corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and insolvency.

Mr. Maal graduated magna cum laude with a law degree from Universidad de los Andes, where he also received recognition from the Ministry of Education for achieving one of the highest scores on the national bar exam. He completed an academic exchange at the School of Law at the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (SciencesPo Paris), focusing on international litigation, international organizations, and global security. He also holds a magna cum laude degree in psychology from Universidad de los Andes.

Mr. Maal served as Senior Faculty Advisor of the Universidad de los Andes Model United Nations delegation, leading the team to win both Best Large Delegation and Best International Large Delegation at Harvard National Model United Nations — the first Colombian team to receive this distinction.
