William Hampson’s practice focuses on investor-state and international commercial arbitration, with particular experience in representing states and state-owned entities.
Mr. Hampson has acted in multiple arbitrations conducted under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), and the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), as well as in ad hoc proceedings under the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) rules. These matters have covered a large variety of fields, including oil and gas, natural resources, financial services and telecommunications.
Mr. Hampson has additional experience in assisting in litigation matters before local courts arising out of related arbitration proceedings, including issues of enforcement, parallel proceedings, freezing injunctions and set-aside proceedings.
