Curtis and ABVCAP Convene Brazilian GPs and International LPs in Washington, DC

Curtis Mallet-Prevost Colt & Mosle LLP proudly partnered with the Brazilian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (ABVCAP) to host a strategic dialogue connecting Brazilian fund managers with institutional investors and Development Finance Institutions in Washington, DC. The October 10 event, held at Curtis's DC office, brought together 30 attendees for an in-depth exploration of Brazil's private capital ecosystem. Curtis attorneys Elisa Botero, Carl Ruggiero, Shaun Reader, and Pablo Calderon participated in the discussions.

The program opened with a presentation by Priscilla Rodrigues, Head of Alternatives at XP Asset Management, who shared key findings from ABVCAP's commissioned study on Brazil's private markets landscape. Her insights provided attendees with data-driven perspectives on the opportunities facing the Brazilian alternatives industry.

Following the presentation, Curtis partner Elisa Botero moderated a roundtable discussion featuring Rodrigues alongside Susana Garcia Robles, one of the pioneering figures in Latin American venture capital through her groundbreaking work at IDB Lab (formerly FOMIN).

This marks the second collaboration between Curtis and ABVCAP for events in the United States, reflecting Curtis' deep commitment to supporting emerging fund managers throughout Latin America. The firm's funds practice works with both emerging fund managers from Latin America seeking global capital and pension funds and other institutional LPs deploying capital internationally. On the GP side, Curtis provides integrated counsel on fund formation, governance, and regulatory compliance across multiple investment strategies—from traditional private equity to impact investing.

The partnership with ABVCAP underscores Curtis's commitment to fostering connections that strengthen Latin America's private capital ecosystem and facilitate the flow of institutional investment to the region's most promising fund managers.
