Curtis' Muscat Office Hosts Seminar on Arbitral Awards in Oman

On 23 June 2025, Curtis delivered a seminar at the Oman Commercial Arbitration Centre on the Enforcement of Foreign & Domestic Arbitral Awards in Oman. Curtis attorneys Abdul Latif Al Rawahi, Kerem Alev, Linna Al Kendi & Ali Shalwani presented the seminar. A wide range of topics were discussed, from strategies to consider for future enforcement at the contract drafting stage, alternatives to enforcement, limitation periods on arbitral awards, challenges to enforcement under Article V of the New York Convention, processes for the enforcement of arbitral awards in Oman, updates on legal developments on enforcement in Oman, a comparison with enforcement in other countries in the region to the rules and services offered by the Oman Commercial Arbitration Centre.

The seminar was attended by a full audience, including members of the Omani judiciary, in-house lawyers, and professionals from the construction and oil and gas sectors in Oman.
