New York, November 1, 2012 - Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP has announced that Thomas Laurer has been promoted to partner in the firm's London-based affiliate in its Investment Management practice group. He will move to Curtis' London office from New York.
Mr. Laurer's practice focuses on all legal aspects of professional investment management including the structuring and forming private investment funds in the United States, Europe and all major international financial offshore centers. His practice also includes the reorganization and restructuring of collective investment vehicles. Mr. Laurer works with international financial institutions, independent investment managers, wealthy individuals and their family offices, and sovereign wealth funds.
'Thomas' strong international experience on a wide range of investment matters for significant clients has made him a valuable part of our firm,' said Matias A. Vega, managing partner of Curtis. Mr. Laurer has been with the Curtis New York office since 2001, first as an associate and more recently as counsel. He earned his L.L.M. with highest honors from George Washington University Law School. He also holds a degree from the Free University of Berlin Law School and successfully completed the First and Second German State Examinations.
